Thames America formed on January 1st 1980 in S.F. was one of the first importers of specialty beers and ales from the UK and Belgium and one of the original exporters of California wines. Thames imported Fullers , Greene King, Felinfoel, Caledonian brands from the UK and Alken Maes ales from Belgium. Fullers ESB in particular became a catalyst beer for the American craft beer market as did Golden Promise Organic ale and Greene King’s Olde Suffolk ale. Thames represented Kenwood, Caymus and Turner wines and was one of the first outfits to ship bulk wine in iso- tanks to Denmark. Jeffrey House founded Thames America and started importing cider, Taunton Dry Blackthorn cider in 1983 before founding the California Cider Company and its iconic ACE brands in 1993.Jeffrey House a true beverage pioneer, has marketed spirits, wines, beers and of course, ciders in his 45 year old career in the drinks industry.
